Four things you are actually choosing between.
You are not comparing feature lists. You are deciding whether the money you cannot currently account for is bigger than a monthly bill. Here is where each option genuinely wins, including where we do not.
Spreadsheets and WhatsApp
What most chains are actually running on at two outlets
Free, apart from the evenings
Where it wins
- Nobody has to learn anything
- Infinitely flexible
- No monthly bill
Where it costs you
- Package balances live in a cell anyone can edit, with no history
- Commission is recalculated by hand every month by one person
- The same client exists three times across three branches
- Nothing stops a double booking except somebody noticing
Free and low-cost booking apps
Fresha and similar
Little or no subscription, paid for through payment processing and marketplace fees
Where it wins
- Excellent calendar and online booking
- Very fast to start
- Strong consumer app for finding new clients
Where it costs you
- Built for the single salon and the solo stylist first
- Prepaid package accounting is thin, and that is where chain money leaks
- Commission rules with assistant splits are usually a spreadsheet again
- Cloud only, so a bad line at the counter is a stopped counter
Their pricing model changes and varies by country, so we do not quote a figure here. Check their own page before you compare.
Established Malaysian salon systems
Aoikumo and similar
Priced per outlet, per year
Where it wins
- Deep, mature and built for this market
- Strong on aesthetics and medical aesthetics workflows
- Local support and local billing
Where it costs you
- Per-outlet pricing means the tenth branch costs the same as the first
- Login seats are capped per outlet on the published plans
- Front desk depends on the connection
Aoikumo's own pricing page on 11 August 2026 listed Grow at MYR2,680 a year per outlet, or MYR298 a month, with Aesthetics at MYR5,380 and up to 18 login users per outlet.
Nolira
Built for 2 to 20 outlets, package integrity first
RM399 a month for three branches, RM99 for each one after
Where it wins
- Package balances are an immutable ledger, not an editable number
- Commission shows its working, line by line
- The front desk keeps operating when the line drops
- Unlimited staff accounts, and a branch gets cheaper as you add more
Where it costs you
- Young product. No SOC 2, no ISO 27001, and a short customer list
- No e-Invoice yet, and we are still in LHDN's application process
- Wrong choice for a single salon, where the price cannot pay for itself
- Windows at the front desk, not a browser tab
Side by side
“Partly” means it exists but not in the depth a chain selling prepaid packages needs. The last row is the one we lose.

Do not buy Nolira if
You run one salon and do not sell prepaid packages. The arithmetic will not work for you.
You need Malaysian e-Invoice filed from inside the system today. We are not there yet.
You want a browser tab at the front desk. Nolira Desk is a Windows application on purpose.
You need a certified compliance posture now. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
If none of those apply and you run three outlets, Nolira costs RM399 a month. Work out whether your leak is bigger than that.
The comparison that actually settles it is your own data.
Send one month of bookings, your package balances and your commission rules. We will show you in Ringgit what the difference between these options is worth to you specifically.
