Built for the messy middle of growing a chain.
Nolira exists because the jump from one outlet to several breaks the tools that got a business there, while the systems built for large enterprises are too heavy to replace them.
The problem we saw
Walk into most growing beauty businesses in Malaysia and you will find the same stack: WhatsApp for enquiries, a paper book or shared calendar for the schedule, a separate POS for payment, and Excel for commission. Package balances live in whichever place the receptionist trusts most that week.
Each tool works. Together they leak, and the leak is invisible in a sales report, which is the only report most owners have.
What we decided
Rather than build forty average features, we chose four to do properly: bookings that cannot conflict, checkout that reconciles, package balances that cannot vanish, and commission anyone can explain.
Once those four are genuinely trustworthy, retention tools, multi-branch depth and analytics are worth adding. Before that, they are decoration on an unreliable base.
How we decide what to build.
Revenue workflow first
We prioritise what affects booking, capacity, checkout, packages and retention. Everything else waits.
Auditability by design
Important transactions are ledgers and events, never silent edits. If a number changed, the record says who and why.
Role-appropriate simplicity
An owner, a cashier and a stylist should not see the same interface. Density is a feature for one and a burden for another.
Offline-resilient branches
A slow connection must not stop a front desk. Offline is a designed operating mode with explicit limits.
Asia-local, not merely translated
Prepaid packages, walk-ins, QR payments, chat-first customers and multilingual names are the default case here, not edge cases.
Explain every number
Revenue, package balance, commission and stock movement each have a traceable source you can show a sceptical person.
Who Nolira is for, and who it is not.
We would rather lose a sale than start a relationship that will not work.
A good fit
- Beauty, spa and wellness chains with 2 to 20 outlets
- Businesses selling prepaid packages or memberships
- Teams using a Windows PC at the front desk
- Owners who need one view across every branch
- Chains with commission structures too complex for a spreadsheet
Not a fit today
- Single-chair independents who only need a calendar
- Medical or aesthetic clinics needing full clinical records
- Businesses wanting a full accounting or payroll system
- Anyone looking for a consumer booking marketplace
- Teams wanting a fully custom build per outlet
